Today at 7:22 PM winter solstice 2006 arrives, the shortest day of the year and the beginning of winter in the Northern Hemisphere. I'm currently in Buffalo, NY, the media ordained cold capital of the universe, and there is no snow and relatively mild temperatures. Nevertheless, winter has arrived.
